Update

This is Isaac Musanga, brother of Kasongo. We are both sorry for not updating this blog for so long. We had been tending to our terminally ill father. We have been in mourning for the last two months as our dear father, who introduced us to Franco when we were small children and cultivated our love for TPOK Jazz, passed away.

One of his dying wishes was that we continue to restore Franco's legacy, so he has left us many records. We will soon start posting more records.

For now we just want to say Rest in Peace to our dear father......

  1. Please accept my condolences and however sad it is to lose a parent, I hope you find some consolation in the fact that he left you with the appreciation and enjoyment of one of the finest Congolese musician and bandleaders of all time. Responsible for attracting so much talent and making so much good music for decades! What better way to honour his memory than making this blog a crown of good music on the internet!
    My best regards

  11. I've been slowly working through this magnificent effort to come to this - so sad for you. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication to spreading the music, spreading the love of that genius Franco Luambo Makiadi...I bought 20eme Anniversaire in Sterns in 1982 and have been in love evr since, but also found the music hard to find. Also hard to make any kind of sense out of the CDs. I never saw him live, I don't understand Lingala (although it's improving !) but I love this music, who knows why ? It speaks to me directly. Thanks again and condolences on your loss
