This is Isaac Musanga, brother of Kasongo who started this blog.
It is with great sadness I tell you of Kasongo's untimely death. Kasongo was killed in a car accident two months ago. I have been grieving too much to write about it.
This is a tragedy I cannot recover from. I don't know if I can continue his work on this blog. Maybe later I can do something. I am too sad now, thank you all for supporting this blog for the past times.
I am shocked and saddened by such terrible news. My sympathies to you and the rest of your family. I did not know Kasongo Musanga personally, but from his writing I know him to be a scholar and a visionary. I will certainly miss his voice and knowledge. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteRIP am from Tanzania I am saddened too
ReplyDeleteBro, I fully understand your grief. The pain is deep and long lasting. Like you, I lost my brother in February this year and didn't know how to move on without him. However time heals and as a headstone in Ireland reads..."Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.” May you be strengthened!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your loss. May his soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear this sad news. May he rest in peace.

ReplyDeleteReceive my sincerest condolences. He enriched my musical life on the web and enabled me to listen to classics that I had forgotten and others that I thought were gone forever. May the Lord give your strength brother.

Aaaaagh! What this bad news; Kasongo Musanga will be remembered in my music carrier; he caught up my thirst when it comes to Congolese music, he enriched my musical hobby and taking me back in those old good memories.
ReplyDeleteWhat double tragic hits in Musanga's family,it is very near to the moment you lost your father, this is shocking and saddening.
May the Lord give your strength and plant Kasongo's enthusiasm in making this blog MOVE FORWARD

ReplyDeleteBest wishes from Chris in England a fan of your wonderful blog.
I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your brother, who had done much work to enrich the musical life of me and many others whom he never met. I appreciate your conveying the sad news, and thanks to your family for their wonderful work in preserving the legacy of Franco.

This is sad news. His work was and is appreciated.
ReplyDeleteMay god bless you. I feel bad for you brotha.
ReplyDeleteSad loss. But the show must go on...
ReplyDeleteTragic loss.
ReplyDeleteKasongo will live on in our hearts and memories......
I'm so sorry for you. I've suffered terrible losses over the last four years, and this music is what is helping me heal. May it help you too.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear this horrible news. I wish you and your family all the best. I am reminded of Franco himself. There is a picture of Franco in Francophonic Vol. 2 sitting in a chair on stage with OK Jazz, too weak to play. It was such a sad ending for a man who brought joy to so many people.
ReplyDeleteThe same is true for your brother.
My thoughts are with you.
Steve--NYC
Kasongo's work was wonderful. My deepest condolences.
ReplyDeleteTime is over. This work is no more important.
ReplyDeleteWe must work for our God. Better upload gospel songs than what you are doing here.
Jesus is coming. Are you ready? Repent and work in holiness Isaac Musanga. Don't be late to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Mungu akubariki wewe na ndugu zako wote.

hello...nice to see this blog
ReplyDeleteI am terribly shocked to read this - so soon after you lost your dear father who inspired this blog. What terrible news (even though it is 18 months ago it is still terrible news).
ReplyDeleteI send you all my love.
I imagine that every time you listen to Franco, if you still do, you just cry, the music is so tied up with your brother and your father. I really feel for you.
We all have to die and some are called early. It's a terrible thing. All we have are the memories and their legacy. This blog is undoubtedly a major legacy to leave behind and I speak for all readers to thank you and your family for bringing us Franco.

Kasongo has done music lovers a service by digging for this music and has made a lot of people very happy. My prayers go out to you.
ReplyDeleteI'm very sorry to hear about the tragic loss in your family. I sincerely hope that you can find solace and peace with it by carrying out your brother's vision to restore this beautiful music and make it accessible to new ears and minds (such as mine). Keep on truckin
